7 Ways to Grow Your Social Media
Starting to build your presence and following from nothing might feel tough and, at times, even impossible. However, I’m here to tell you: it’s not. While there is no “secret” or turnkey solution, there are small tactics and strategies that can help you build your social media presence.
Stay Active
Inactive social feeds are a bad look, plain and simple. Rather than let your Facebook or Instagram gather cobwebs, you need to “show up” day after day with fresh content. To help you stay active try incorporating social scheduling and automation to save time and energy. Through scheduling or simply blocking out 10-minute chunks throughout the day, you can post content and respond followers without wasting time.
Be Consistent with Your Brand
When I say consistent, I mean the overall tone of your social media presence needs to match your established personality, values, and voice. Even more so, if you are using multiple social media platforms, be sure that each account tells the same story and projects the same tone for your company.
Engage with Your Audience
This is the alpha and omega of growing a loyal audience. Try to see your followers as not only a number which you’re aiming to grow, but as relationships you need to maintain. People want to be seen and heard, and interaction and meaningful conversation become more and more important. Make it a habit replying to comments and responding to messages.
Customize Your Content for Each Platform
When it comes to content and different platforms, it’s not a ‘one size fits all’ situation we’ve got on our hands. You’ll have to tailor your content to the different channels. This regards cover photos, video format and length, background music, theme, mood, and much more.
Use Tags & Hashtags Smartly
Hashtags are a great way to be found and seen, but also to take part in trends and stay engaged in the community. Try to find ones that are relevant to your audience and your content and include them on each post.
Consider Investing in Social Media Ads
It can be a really good investment to spend a bit of money on paid social promotions and advertisements. If done right, paid ads can not only grow your audience but also enhance the number of conversions while helping you target a greater number of people. Remember, you don’t have to spend an arm and a leg. With the right strategy and knowledge, there is a lot to be won through small measures.
